If you and your consultant feel it is the best treatment for you (and cant see why not, after all, stop the risk of complications before the complications stop you) and your local Primary Care Trust doesnt fund them (because unfortunately we are living in a postcode lottery in this matter). FIGHT FOR IT!! It will be worth it I promise you.

Most PCTs (if not all) have a Board Meeting in Public once a month where the public can put a question to the PCT. This is well worth an hours time. If you get "fobbed off", shout louder. Contact your MP and/or your local MP.
